BALI NEWS: Unesco was announcement that 9 Balinese Dances are selected to be kept in the World Heritage. All Balinese peoples are glad to hear this information.
Selected Dance by Unesco:
Barong Ket Dance
This dance is a towering figure. Humanoid figure with a height twice the height of an adult. The male figure is called Jero Gede, while his partner is called Jero Luh. That said, barong is kindly made to trick the spirits who spread disaster. Barong Ket is the most numerous in Bali and most often staged. It also has Barong dance the most complete movement. Of his form, a fusion between the shape of lions, tigers, cows and dragons. Agency is decorated with intricately carved leather and hundreds of small glass mirrors. Joged Dance
The dance tube is a social dance in Bali. Usually performed in social events in Bali, such as weddings. This dance is danced by female dancers. Legong Keraton Dance
It is a classical Balinese dance group that has a vocabulary of highly complex motion-bound with percussion. Legong word is derived from the word “leg” which means dance flexible or pliable and “gong” meaning gamelan. Gamelan is used to accompany the Legong dance called Gamelan Semar Pagulingan. When the prince recovered from his illness, his dream was poured into the dance repertoire with complete gamelan.
In accordance with the beginning, the Legong dancer standard is two girls who have not had menstruation. Both of these dancers, called Legong, are always equipped with a fan as a tool. In some Legong dances, there is an extra dancer, called skew. The structure of the dance generally consists of papeson, Pangawak, Pengecet, and Pakaad. Legong lost popularity in the early 20th century with the rise of the dance forms Kebyar of the northern part of Bali. New revitalization efforts initiated since the late 1960s, by exhuming the old documents for reconstruction. This dance was the favourite of Unesco.
Drama Tari Wayang Wong
Wayang Wong is basically the art of mask and puppet performances by human actors or people (wong). In bringing the characters are played, all the dancer’s dialogue, and all the main characters. In some parts of the show, the dancers also sing featuring temple – the temple of the importance of Kakawin. Drama Tari Gambuh

Topeng Sidakarya Dance
Sidakarya term (Sidakarya: Bali), derived from the word “idea” and “work”. The word “eunuch” in Sanskrit, of uric word “siddh” (grade I / IV), it means reaching. In its formation (PP) being said siddha / siddhya, which means success, achieved, accomplished, perfect. While the word “work”, has a sense of duty, purpose, employment / occupation, ritual / ceremony. Baris Upacara Dance
